Team Trout Mafia

We are midwestern kayak fishing team located along the shores of Lake Michigan. We ply the waters of the great lakes for Salmon and Trout twelve months a year and are competitive in many of the fishing tournaments in the region. Tom and Mike met on a pier in Chicago as the sun rose in the spring of 2009 chasing coho salmon. As the two of them honed their craft they crossed paths with Kalvin at midnight on a moonlit beach in Wisconsin, launching kayaks into the inky waves of Lake Michigan to troll deep for King Salmon. Mark and Kalvin met on the ice in Milwaukee, Mark caught his first Brown Trout through the ice that day, which turned out to be the same fish he had broken off earlier, it still had his other hook in its mouth. The four of us fish together and fish as often as we can, as a team we catch and release thousands of fish every year.

We are Tom Harris, Mike Planthaber, Kalvin Sabel, and Mark Rasmussen. We are Team Trout Mafia.
